Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, former chief minister of Punjab and chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam has voiced party’s consent on Tuesday over construction of Kala Bagh Dam.
While talking to the media, Elahi called for lawmakers to not resort to politics with reference to Kala Bagh Dam. He said that the people are enduring an era that does not have adequate electricity supply, lack of potable water among other issues whereas the government had vowed to alleviate their sufferings.
He called out the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on not ending power outages in six months as claimed.
Elahi said that Kala Bagh Dam should be renamed to Pakistan dam. He claimed to quit politics if the farmers do not get adequate power supply once the dam is operational.
Former army chiefs Ziaul Haq and Pervez Musharraf missed opportunities to have the dam constructed, the former CM of Punjab said.
